Forced PVP on "Normal" Servers

I'm not even certain if it should go here, but to me this is an in game issue. Recently I have noticed that regular towns, not major ones can cause people to flag for pvp even if they do not cause damage to any surrounding pvp flagged mob.

It wouldn't be so bad if this was a pvp server but it isnt', I do not like pvp and try to avoid it as much as possible. It's why I rolled a pvp server. I find it very annoying when I am forced into a pvp situation because the enemies guard chased me across a zone and tagged me once causing ME damage but I did none in return.

I did a double check to make certain there was no buff on me, nor any skill and or talant that caused damage on being hit. I had none, yet every time no matter the level difference in the old world, if I get tagged I will be flagged.

Now on a level 80 I don't really care but when I'm trying to level my alt who's only 42 and get chased down by Guards who wonder to far from their town and get flagged because it attacked me; its just not right. Especially on a normal server. Is there any server that doesn't have pvp in it? :/ Cause I -hate- pvp seriously. I only do it when I'm so bored I feel like logging off.

Well, I've now triple checked in several different locations, and an unflagged character that is attacked by opposite faction guards should not be automatically flagged for PvP - even with Thorns or another damage shield enabled.

edit: the above is only true on some in-game locations! My mistake =<

Is it at all possible that you buffed or healed a member of your faction that was PvP flagged, or accepted a PvP based quest? That will cause your character to also be PvP flagged, and that would be appropriate functionality.

Also, all of this aside, PvE realms are not PvP free realms. They are simply realms where PvP is much less common, and nearly always voluntary in nature.

Interesting, kitty.... I can state unequivocally that I got flagged simply by being "near" op fac guards (that is, not even being attacked) while running Explorer on my two Jae 80s. NUMEROUS times.

Very interesting.

Out of curiosity, was that always near Stonard?

Actually! I was wrong =(.

It seems that the guards from those locations do flag opposite faction players. Please pardon my mistake =(.

It seems that attacks from most guards should indeed cause their target to become PvP flagged.
