i am posting to inform blizzard that i know something is up with your system. setup: i use 1 computer for playing wow, spent 1400 dollars to have a system that is flawless. i uninstall every program that would be used by normal people. it has no Internet browser, no email programs. it has never been on the "internet' besides logging into world of warcraft. the first time i was hacked, i just gotten the system, uninstalled unneeded programs, installed wow, logged in. with in 11 mins, i was kicked and was unable to log back in. now, we can chalk that up to being my fault if you want. but this time, as i type i am beyond convinced this is a weakness in wow security. this same computer, 4 months later, a stand alone system(after wiping it and reformatting c:) is still untouched my any way of getting key loggers, scripts, or any item that would compromise my system. not even my wife knows my password...and the only time i put in my password in anywhere is to log into wow, and to log into www.worldofwarcraft.com account management site. i do check the Addy to make sure i am logging in to your side only. i use laptop for surfing the web, checking email. i never opened any emails from anyone in the last 3 months, you can check my inbox. i never download anything off the web. my wife don't use the computer, and my son is 2. so you tell me: how the @@*% did i get hacked?

I'm terribly sorry to hear that your account has been compromised, Mercenaries; however, I'm afraid you're incorrect in believing that your account was compromised as a result of a security issue on our servers. I understand that this is often the easiest determination to come to, but it is simply not an accurate diagnosis.

I encourage you to review the following threads for more information on how to secure your computer and report your account as compromised:

Computer Security Recommendations:

In addition to securing your computer, please make sure that your registered e-mail address is secure and not used for any other web services (especially those related to the World of Warcraft). Furthermore, please be on the lookout for fake e-mails and phishing messages designed to fool players into visiting malicious websites. Examples of these e-mail can be found here:

Our Game Masters and Investigators will do their best to restore each and every item lost, Merc, so please remain patient and let us know if you have any questions.

Q u o t e:

YES...and to prove the fact, they have deleted my other post with any hint of talk about blizzard. i am not saying the staff of blizzard is up to anything, but maybe the log in site is being monitored by an outside source, maybe its something they haven't noticed.

I'm uncertain how that proves anything other than the fact that it violates our Forum Guidelines, Mercenaries. The title of your post was changed because it was posted in all capital letters, and your excessive thread was deleted because your previous thread was still active.

You're welcome to believe what you will; however, your assumptions are incorrect. My biggest fear is that the security lapse you have been unable to identify will remain and could possibly lead to another compromise thereby frustrating you and our player base even further.
