Hello,

I had an account with two level 70's that I stopped using shortly before WoTLK came out. I wanted to reactivate this account but I am not sure how to do it with the new battle net log in. The old information for the account wasn't a battle net account. Is there any way to reactivate it? I cannot log into the account management with the old info and I cannot log into the forums with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Reviewing your posting account details, I was able to find one World of Warcraft account (not yet merged) which matched your details and e-mail address. It has two level 70s on it and seems to be the one you wish to reclaim. I went ahead and requested a Billing acquaintance reset the password (as your e-mails match) and you should see it arrive shortly :) If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Thank you. I received the email with the password reset. I was able to log into my old account in account management. Do I use paid character transfer if I want to merge the old characters to this account?

Thanks again!

Yuppers! You will need to merge that account into your Battle.net first. You can have up to eight accounts on one Battle.net account, and when they are merged, Paid Transfers between them are deliciously possible and easy to do!

If I wanted to. Could I just cancel this newer account, purchase WoTLK on the old account and then purchase a subscription for it? Do I HAVE to merge them? Sorry for all the questions.

Well, in order to log into World of Warcraft, it needs to be merged into a Battle.net account. It is your choice if you wish to cancel the new one and reactivate the old one. All the World of Warcraft accounts remain separate, but will be under the same Battle.net umbrella if merged to the same Battle.net account. If you wish to keep all your World of Warcraft accounts under different Battle.net accounts, you can create a second one for this second World of Warcraft account.
