Topic, if I go and buy 2 game cards and use them on my recruited account, would they count towards my 2 months? >>

Actually, one pre-paid game card credits 60 days of game play. If you're referring to pre-paid game time codes, available on the Blizzard Store (http://us.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=110000004), then you'd need to purchase two.

Either way, yes: pre-paid game cards and game time codes will indeed count towards the 2 months of purchased (and paid for) game play required for the Recruit-A-Friend mount.

Here's a bit more from our FAQ (http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=25717):
Q u o t e:
Can a recruit account use Pre-Paid Game Cards or Game time to subscribe? If so, will my veteran account still qualify for a X-53 Touring Rocket?

Yes. Should a recruit account use a 60-day Pre-Paid Game Card or Pre-Paid Game Time to subscribe, your veteran account will not only qualify, but you'll be able to redeem your X-53 Touring Rocket immediately. Unlike Credit Cards, Paypal statements, and payments through Payment One, Pre-Paid Game Cards and Pre-Paid Game Time are processed right away and do not stack behind trial time or pending 30-day credits.

Q u o t e:
Even if you buy a 60-Day Gamecard, don't you have to wait out the full "Free Month" you earned for buying Classic WoW for it to take effect?

You do not. Once your add the game card to your account, the subscription is immediately extended by 30, 60, 90, or 180 days depending on the game card. What this means is because the purchase was made and game time applied, this will count towards the 60-day game time purchase immediately. :)
