A thank you to Blizz development

Every time I come here I see almost nothing but negative posts, and I'm sure many people will post in here saying how wrong I am. Please don't get too down blues, I believe it's simply when people are happy, they feel less need to thank, and when people are upset, they feel they are entitled to insult.

Just about every change along the way, and that I've seen coming for Cata are things I've been thinking about from only days into starting this game. Epic and interesting quests, instead of "kill 20 of these mobs" or "retrieve this item" over and over... thank you. Allowing friends to play together, instead of "must have certain classes" and "must have 25-40 good friends in wow"... thank you. Asking for feedback on everything usually long before it's implemented, treating this place like a democracy... thank you.

In general, I've never seen so much care by the developers for a game being equalling fun for everyone. It is a game, it is for entertainment, if it's not fun it can only be played from addiction. You've treated this game like your favorite child and it shows.

To all the "Cata will ruin everything" people: if the game started with Cata and then went to Wrath, then BC, then vanilla, you would all say how awful having 40 man raids and no flying mounts and boring quests and classes pigeon holed into 1 role are. "Oh how much better the game was back in my day in Cata and Wrath!" would be the moto of the forums.

So don't get stressed out class designers, artists, encounter designers, and everyone else, you are doing amazing and working with more passion then any development team in games prior. Now about you Tues maintenance people who manage to bug bosses and destroy mail..... ;)

Thanks Aphilion and the rest of you for expressing warm regards for the work we do. Everyone here is putting in long hours and is utterly pumped to make this a killer (not WoW killer, har) expansion. We knew ahead of time which previews would cause a stir and which ones would incite excitement. We'd rather share our ideas with players now and get feedback though -- even if it's negative -- than keep people in the dark until they're standing on line to purchase the expansion. Ultimately, it's going to be an amazing expansion. So far player feedback is helping us to be sure of that and the testing experience will really give us the chance to lock things into place. :)

Also, what do you plan to do first when Cata releases? Make a Goblin/Worgen, rush to 85, or ?

That's a hard call. I can't decide. I need to get at least one of my level 80 characters to 85 before too long so I'm in touch with the end game when discussion about it arises on the forums. At the same time, I've tested the goblin starting experience for a bit and absolutely love it! Goblins might just beat out gnomes as my new favorite playable race. I also definitely plan to level a worgen as well.

I'm really looking forward to creating characters for the two new races and playing them all the way to 85. As much as the end game is important, discussions surrounding it overshadow a great majority of this game's amazing content. I'm most excited to roll two fresh characters as new races and experience leveling again, except under a new light with the changes coming in Cataclysm. A large percentage of our playerbase has no focus on, or interest in the end game. They enjoy our zones and the gameplay of questing. I can't wait to step back and reflect upon some of the features which originally drew me into this game, except this time after more than five years of evolution to enhance the gameplay experience. :)

I'm sorry, but don't they get paid?

I'd hate to be your waiter in a restaurant.
