Guild bank restoration

A member of my guild had their account stolen and the guild bank was raided. Blizzard restored his character and the items to the guild bank within two days. I was pretty impressed.

Then I noticed that 6 (all applicable) items in the guild bank no longer contain a suffix or random enchant. For example, Sapphire Signet of the Owl is now just Sapphire Signet and it does not provide any bonuses. I figured it was just a mistake so I contacted customer support. Blizzard says they can't restore them. I don't even care what random enchants they put on them as long as they aren't worthless. I have screen shots.

I was initially impressed with Blizzard's response. Now my opinion is thanks for nothing. To make matters worse I am about 90% certain the account was hacked from the Blizzard end. My friend is smart, careful, and computer savvy. There is no indication it was hacked from his end.

If that is true then how come Blizzard recommends that you use a separate unpublished e-mail account for you Wow account? To me that suggests there is a chance of their password reset server getting hacked. How can the two of you be so sure that Blizzard has never been hacked? If you know something I don't I would love to hear it. I did not make that statement out of hand. I did some research and came to what I believe is a reasonable suspicion.

Because it makes you slightly less vulnerable to being the target of a phish, Wrock.

Any email address posted anywhere on the web, or that exists in anyone's address book that happens to have spyware to capture that information is FAR more likely to become the target of phishes.
