Authenticator out of sync?

Hello, I have an authenticator for the iPod Touch. I had to activate it at a friend's house because I do not own a wireless router.

I have been using it for the past week or two. However today, after getting disconnected, attempted to relog, to find out I'm not able. My login information is not valid. I tried a good 15 times thinking I may have typed the info password or auth key wrong.

I reset my password on www.worldofwarcraft.com/loginsupport and it still doesn't work with the new password.

I have tried pressing the "Resync" button but the "Sync is unsuccessful". I am NOT using a wireless router. Do I need a wireless router to do so?

What is going on?

You have to be connected to the internet to resync.

This is correct.

Also, can you give me a character name/realm on the account in question?

Well, this is likely a resync issue. Will you be able to resync your mobile to try this again with your latest password?

I don't have a wireless modem. I don't want to buy a wireless router to be able to play the game. I don't want to go to a friend's house every time this crap happens.

Why does this happens? And can you remove the authenticator, or will I need to wait 2 hours on the phone to have it removed?

So much trouble.

We would need you to call to remove it. Have you considered getting a physical device instead?

I don't recommend removing an authenticator, it provides extremely valuable protection to your account. Mobiles can occasionally have this happen, but it really isn't that common.

This could be resync'd on our side, but if it's your mobile - that's not likely to do a lot of good for you.

I didn't understand that last sentence

What are the possible solutions? So far I see :

1. Resync my iPod by connecting it to a wireless network (not possible everyday and not very useful if it randomly happens once a week)
2. Call Blizzard to remove my authenticator

If your mobile is out of sync, those are your options, Veksen. Well, that and obtaining a physical keyfob instead of using a mobile.

how can I know if it's out of sync? can you make any sort of check?

does it randomly happen? I logged and couldn't log back 30 minutes later.

Really no way to determine that but through process of elimination, Vek. Doesn't appear locked on our side, which usually indicates it's out of sync.

One thing I'd check with Billing on is to make sure the serial number is correct. If you reinstalled the app instead of resync'ing it - you've put in a new serial number that won't match.
