Do Any Blizz Developers Play A Rogue

The proposed Cataclysm changes and the Blizz-stated new philosophy on the class have me concerned on the direction rogues are headed in the future.

I honestly wonder if any lead Developers play what is the least-played class currently in the game. PvE-wise, I think the new abilities (Smoke Bomb) are a useful way to allow rogues to contribute more to a raid than nice DPS and Tricks of the Trade.

However, the direction of rogues in PvP is much more alarming.

You could give every other class in the game 10 new abilities, and if you only fixed Vanish for rogues we would be happy. How can you give rogues an ability that reduces damage by 10-50% for 6-30 seconds (Combat Readiness) yet giving Vanish .5 seconds of damage immunity was considered OP???

We are being transformed into warriors with less mobility and less damage reduction. I'm really not sure where the idea came from to implement stun DRs on CS-KS, but I would have to guess it didn't come from a Developer who plays the rogue class. Same thing goes for 'Combat Readiness'.

Most of the fun from playing the class comes from the thrill of not being able to tank damage from multiple sources, but being able to control each source as best we can to minimize damage taken. This leads to restealths, stunlocks, etc.

If I wanted to play a warrior I'd roll one.

Your post seems to reflect your concerns in a fair and legitimate manner. If you want it to make it a topic of discussion appropriate for this forum, however, please remove the hyperbole about Blizzard employees not playing your class, and therefore not bothering to care or understand rogue concerns. We know our game. Stick to constructively voicing your opinion and leave behind your pessimistic assumptions as to why your opinion should be validated.
