Good Tuesday morning, everyone!! It's maintenance day. :)

From our Service Status Forum:

Q u o t e:
We will be performing scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, April 20th. It will begin at 05:00 AM PDT and conclude at approximately 11:00 AM PDT. During this time, all realms and many web services will be unavailable.

Please remember that all times listed above are estimated. Realms could return to service a bit earlier, or later than posted.

Also, as all maintenance schedules are provided in PDT (Pacific Daylight Time), should you not live on the pacific coast, you will need to adjust this time accordingly. :)

    Here's a quick table to reference:
    HST = PDT - 3 hours
    MDT = PDT + 1 hour
    CDT = PDT + 2 hours
    EDT = PDT + 3 hours
    ADT = PDT + 4 hours
    Newfoundland = PDT + 4.5 hours
    GMT = PDT + 7 hours
    AEST = PDT + 17 hours

Last, but not least, don't forget that today is an excellent time to run maintenance on your own systems. Update your scanning software, any installed Flash programs, your OS, etc.

Tuesday Recommended Reading List.

Q u o t e:
What exactly do you all do for realm maintenance? Are you replacing hardware or just cleaning caches etc...I've always wondered what ya all do on Tuesday mornings on non-patch days.

Our day begins with calisthenics.

Actually, no. That's incorrect. It begins with us looking up a ton of random, old spreadsheets. Each of those spreadsheets is then printed out and crafted into several unique paper airplanes. Once all the paper planes are crafted, we paint each others names on the "fuselage," maybe 10 names per plane. We then run up to the roof of the building and send them off. The employees whose names are associated with the furthest plane get a pony from Ghostcrawler that week.

It's a complicated process. Very time consuming. Nothing to do with realms, though. I have no idea where people get that idea. >.>

I'm guessing that discussion of the process of realm maintenance is against policy, and in an effort to not straight out ignore people who ask, the Blizzard posters come up with funny responses?

That's not an unfair assessment. :)

Wait, wait, waaaaaaaait a minute.

I thought maintenance day was synonymous with "spin the wheel'o'nerfs day?"

I'm so confused.

We only have one wheel, and it has 'Zouche' written in every blank =(.

It's 11 AM. Do you know where your realms are?

As of approximately 10:20am PDT, all realms were reporting as online with players logging in at a normal rate. Is anyone still experiencing issues at this time? If so, let me know. :)
