Do GMs and Devs actually play?

I was thinking today, since these people spend hours upon hours performing a wide range of duties and responsibilities, I was wondering if people that work for blizz actually play wow? I realized that they probably have characters that they do the instant 80 thing and full epics, but do they actually level toons and wipe on raid bosses like the rest of us?

Doesn't really matter if they do or not, I'm just a curious gnome. I would imagine with the amount of time they spend at work doing work related work, they wouldnt want to play the game in their off time. A related example of this would be a porn star not getting freaky (for lack of a better word) when he/she is not "on the job".

I know they don't play Draenei >_>

Everyone's always so sure that their class/race is the one we don't play. I find that mildly entertaining.

So do the GM's play with us or they do have their own server? O_o

CMs, GMs, developers all play on the live realms with everyone else without any powers. We level the same, get items the same etc.

I have nearly one of every race currently with my main two being undead and draenei (yes, shaman).

So how do they react to the horrible horrible people that exist in the wow community? Luckily the good tend to outweigh the bad, and that's what keeps me playing, but it's worse than grade school in here.

I do the same thing as anyone else. I report violations to the GMs (in game and they don't know it's me.) I report spam. I put people on ignore. I friend people I had a good time with. I turn off channels sometimes (though generally try to keep them on.) I'm still "working" even in game, tracking what people are saying etc, but try to disassociate myself with that mode when I can just to relax and enjoy the game. I mostly find that while there are those that barrel past everyone (behaviorally) like a bull in a china shop, most people are likewise just looking to have a good time too.

I even have my "off" days where I mess up and stand in fire /cringe because I'm watching someone else, or I'm tired and don't pay as close attention. I usually say, "sorry" and people are fine with it as long as I don't repeat the mistake. Just like everyone else. ;)
