If you're willing, Bacongrease, just keep on reporting what you see. Malicious whispers and in-game mail may be reported using the "Report Spam" feature. Corpse spam, however, is best reported via in-game petition. If you include the location of the corpses and the phrase "corpse advertisement," "corpse spam," or "oh god, body spam everywhere" within your petition, we'll be able to identify the petition quickly and get the mess cleaned up. :)

Fact is, these gold farmers/spammers pay for accounts, though generally on stolen credit cards and for some reason THEY get the consideration, not those of us reporting them ... fun fun fun , lovin' Blizz

Unfortunately, most illicit activity occurs on compromised accounts. =/

That said, we're not asking our players to give any consideration to those who willfully exploit the game and its devoted players. Instead, we're encouraging each and every one of you to join in on the fight that our Hacks team has been waging for years. Report any gold advertisements you see—this includes whispers, in-game mail, and corpse spam. After that, ignore them completely. Don't patronize these individuals or the companies they represent and make sure that your friends and guild mates don't, either.

The reason we sometimes recommend leaving the Trade channel or using AddOns to help block incoming spam is not to "pass the buck." We do this because we know that these types of advertisements can really detract from your in-game experience. Though we're doing all we can on our end to help remove these types of advertisements from the game, it's no easy task, and some forms exploitation slip through. By providing you ways to help block advertisements on your own, we're offering a means by which you may continue to enjoy the game to its fullest.

Whenever you submit a petition, Aik, your character's location is recorded, so if you're reporting underground mining and you're standing on the location it occurred, you can just list the player's name and the approximate area where the behavior was witnessed. We can extrapolate the rest.

Good question. :)

You can probably see these most recent tickets. Have I provided enough info for the GM?

Yup, you're golden.
