Alliance to Horde BoA pvp trinket

I recently purchased the Inherited Insignia of the Alliance and sent it to my Horde alt along with other BoA armor, weapons, and the other trinket. I thought the trinket would change to the Horde version when sent, but it did not. Is this how it is suppose to work or is there a way to obtain the horde version as an alliance or a way to switch it?

Unfortunately, Ruse, those Faction specific items don't change based on who they are sent to. The mail system was recently changed in order to allow players to mail items across factions but some restrictions are still in place.

The only time that I'm aware of that the item itself will change is if you Faction Change while holding the item.
