Celestial Steed code redemption problem

I have successfully obtained a code for the in-game Celestial Steed mount. However, now that I try to redeem it and apply to my main account, I get the following message:

The selected World of Warcraft license is not available to play.

It is an old account in good standing; haven't cancelled subscription or been late on payments since it opened a few years ago. I play characters on it daily.

Is there a quick fix for this? Thank you.

If you use a billable method the requires processing (i.e. a credit card) it can take up to 72 hours for that payment to go through. When a subscription payment is pending there is a grace period that still allows you to access the game though some other functions are inaccessible during this time such as posting access to the forums as well as entering these codes. I don't believe the inability to apply the code during the pending time is intended, though for now the only possible work around that I'm aware of is canceling and reapplying your subscription.
