I don't know about some people but I see my gear about 95% of the time I'm logged on, I only use ToL form for Heroics and Raiding, so the excuse that Blizz wants Druids to be able to see the cool gear they get is pretty weak, all my time in Dal doing whatever is spent in caster form. Furthermore I don't understand why this would be a change for only resto druids and not all other types of druids, are they not equally deserving of seeing their cool gear most of the time....oh wait they probably spend all of their down time in caster form too...
In regards to losing too much utility while in ToL form, just what are we losing exactly?? We can't dps that's for sure, but as a healer I don't care about dps anyway. Unless Blizzard plans on having healers dps in their lull between healing this really should not be an issue. You don't see Shadow Priests having Shadow form being turned into a CD because they can't use their healing spells without switching out.
So besides our dps "utility" what else do we loose while in ToL form. Well we can't cast entangling roots (for some reason in ToL form) or cyclone. While useful on occasion these really are not crucial spells especially for a healer.
To loose ToL form as a permanent form would make me fell like not a druid, without it I'm just a caster with a CD ability for flavor. Don't take away an ability that defines us as a class.
