Recruit-A-Friend Free month

Well I just got back into the game and playing off the Wrath of the Lich King trial for the time being. Before i had quit, i had recruited my friend who continued playing the game. Well, he bought 2 months and in return I received a month free. Now that I returned to WoW, it says I recieved an in-game mount and free month of game time. Do i receive it as soon as i start my subscription again?

Have you checked your Account Management page as suggested above?

That should show you a history of what has been applied and used.
