Faction change?

Yeh I have been away for a few months and a new co worker plays horde so i reactivated my account, server xferred him and now i wanna faction change,

it says its down, anyone know what time itll be up? i find my luck kinda bad the day i want to get back into WoW services are down lol ^_^

Our various services should now be available, based on the most recent information I've received, but it may be necessary to clear your browsers cookies and cache to do so.

Clearly, these services are either impacted by a great number of requests or are temporarily unavailable. Our staff are investigating this situation as we speak.
In the meantime, there are a very large number of incoming requests, so if your need is not urgent, it may be best to try again during a period when we may be receiving fewer requests.

It depends on the service. Some appear to merely be heavily impacted, while others, such as Character Transfers, seem to be unavailable.

I hope that I didn't come off as sarcastic or condescending. I merely meant to acknowledge the feedback presented in this thread and let everyone know that we're aware of the issue. Earlier in the thread there was some confusion regarding which services, if any, were affected.

No, Diziskitzo, it is not. We had previously received many reports of players receiving the service is unavailable message and clearing your cookies/cache and trying an alternate browser has worked to resolve it.

Obviously there is an additional issue, which we have already acknowledged and stated that it is being looked into. Please leave the negative hyperbole out of this thread.

I just heard back from our Technicians and it appears that these services may be down for a few more hours. If I receive a better estimate I will let you know.

Technically speaking, Elitesnipers, when you initiate these services it states that it can take up to 3 to 5 days to process, depending on the service. This information is also found in the FAQ.

I am sorry for what inconvenience this may cause you but errors do occur, as much as we would like it, they don't simply go away because they are unwanted.

I'm sorry you feel that way, Elitesniper. I am often fairly direct as I don't believe in coating what I am saying in insincere fluff. I meant no disrespect. You seem to be complaining that this was something that you needed done immediately, though they usually will process within 30 to 60 minutes that is not always the case, I was simply trying to point out that our services can take several days and that we provide ample warning of that fact.

As the others said you will leave automatically, Carandara, but if you are a Guild Leader you will need to disband your guild or pass on leadership before you will be able to Transfer/Faction Change.

Not yet, Athilath. Thus far I'm getting back that it will be at least a few hours but I've been told that as soon as a more accurate ETA is available it'll be passed on to me and I'll pass it along to all of you. :)

I understand what frustration these issues cause, I just want to keep things as positive as possible while the matter is being addressed. I didn't mean to "call you out" specifically, Wendalyn, I just noticed the commentary before and would rather not continue the trend if we can help it. :D

I hope to have an update within the hour to see where we are on this issue. Thank you everyone for hanging in there.

I'm working on getting one, Sox, though it looks like it may be awhile before one will be forthcoming. From what I have been able to determine it doesn't sound like this is a minor issue. Our Technicians are working with a couple of other related departments to develop a resolution.

As soon as an ETA can be determined we will pass it along. I'm sorry that your patience could not be rewarded with a more definitive answer but I thank you for your patience thus far.

I wish I had more news, results may still be mixed at the moment.

We are currently looking into website/browser based issues - it seems to be more those now than the actual service itself - it's getting TO the service that is the issue for some.

Hey, folks! As of about...7:50am PST (roughly 20 minutes) ago, the Faction Chance service appears to be back online. We're still testing to make sure the service is stable, though, so please continue to report any issues you may experience within this thread. Those reports will be forwarded on appropriately. :)

You receive the busy message when attempting to access this page (https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account/faction-change-intro.html?), Pandamonaeon? I'm currently able to login without issue, so let me know if you're hitting an error later in the process.

Hey, Cixelsyd! It looks like the check we always run prior to charging a payment method was successful, but (for some reason) we were never able to collect funds. This is why your transaction didn't complete. We've gone ahead and canceled the stuck transaction, though, so you can resubmit at any time.

We're at the ready just in case you encounter any further issues.

You could look into a pre-paid gift card for the price of a Faction Change (plus an extra $1 for the verification charge). Pre-paid gift cards are available in many retail stores and, according to reports from our players, Visa and MasterCard seem to be the most popular.

Similarly, PayPal offers a one-time-use credit card option, so that might be a pretty simple process overall.
