Faction Changes and Transfers pending

Key changes have been made behind the scenes, folks. Accordingly, we expect to see these Faction Changes to begin processing once more in the very near future. Please keep an eye on your registered e-mail address for the latest information surrounding your individual requests.

We are still investigating an issue surrounding our Paid Character Transfer service. If you have submitted a Paid Character Transfer, received an e-mail indicating the transfer was completed, and yet cannot access your character, please provide us with the name and realm of the character so that we may look into this further. If you have recently submitted a Paid Character Transfer but do not see your character on the destination realm, please create a new character on the realm to refresh your character select screen.

We will continue to monitor this thread and let you know if any additional information becomes available. Thank you all for your extended patience.

Greetings all.

I just wanted to give you an idea of where we are on this.

I spoke with some folks when I came in today and it looks like our Database Administration Team is working with our Developers/programs in order to resolve the issue. I do not currently have a ETA on when the matter will be resolved.

For clarity, this should only apply to those characters who's transactions are taking an unusually long time. This may not apply to you if you recently transferred the character and initiated a Faction Change without logging into the newly transferred character to rename it. In that case it could simply require you to log into the character and select a new name which should allow you to re-initiate and complete the Faction Change process normally.

Most of you should know who you are as I have stated specifically that I have forwarded your information up to help in the case. I may be able to look into individual cases but please only inquire if your process has been in queue for 12+ hours.

If you are experiencing the processing error canceling and restarting your Faction Change or Transfer will likely not help as the issue is with the character itself and needs to be resolved from our end. You may completely cancel your transaction and play the character normally while we work on resolving the matter.

Please note that this remains a high priority issue and as soon as I am given an update I will pass it along. I can not thank you enough for your continued patience and understanding while this issue is being resolved.

Actually, Tasaneè, it looks like your Faction Change followed the Character Transfer you did and it doesn't appear that you logged into the character to change it's name before you initiated the Transfer.

Can you try the following steps for me?

1. Cancel the Faction Change
2. Log into the character and select a new name.
3. Zone (i.e. switch continents) then log out at an inn.
4. Wait 15-20 minutes.
5. Initiate your Faction Change.

I'm not certain if the transfer will simply complete once they find a resolution, Xophar, if you aren't planning on playing the character until it is transferred I don't see the harm in leaving it be.

Thank you, Lilybeard. I'm not certain why some of these have processed, I haven't received an update but perhaps someone is tweaking something which allowed the issue to clear for a couple of you.

You, Kittenns, are described in the very first post in this thread. You had a Transfer and did not log into the character to select a new name before initiating the Faction Change.

Can you try the following steps for me?

2. Log into the character and select a new name.
3. Zone (i.e. switch continents) then log out at an inn.
4. Wait 15-20 minutes.
5. Initiate your Faction Change.

Bebop, your purchase it still pending but it should unlock soon.

Faction Changes can take up to three days but on average they process within an hour or two.

Please, folks, review the first post. A few hours does not mean you need to be added to the list or you are experiencing an issue. Your request is processing, Wolffang. So is Maara's. These things aren't always instant, they can take up to 3 days, they usually don't but they can. In this case most of these transactions are taking several hours still.

Make sure you also clear your browsers cache (temporary internet files) as well.

Tahtoth, I can see the character on the realm, if you still can not try creating and deleting a character on that realm. That should update your Character Selection list.

This applies to all characters who have a pending Faction Change. We are still investigating the issues surrounding the Paid Character Transfer process.

You are welcome to play on the account as long as you do not attempt to log into the characters with pending transactions.

I suggest creating a new character on the realm to refresh the character select screen, Dogtag. Once you've done that, please follow the instructions contained within our Faction Change FAQ:

Clicking on this button will allow you to select the character's new faction and race, as well as customize the character's look and name. These steps will greatly resemble the character creation process.

To complete the Faction Change, press the button labeled "Click to change your character's faction" and confirm your selections. If you do not wish to change the character's faction immediately, you may do so at a later time.

It is like that what you are seeing is a temporary pending charge that will be removed within 5 to 7 business days, Dingle. I hope everyone is having a glorious Sunday. It seems that some of these issues have been cleared but others are still remaining stuck in the error state. Programmers are fairly elusive but I am trying to track one down to see how this matter stands.

Is there any special symbols in the name, Randith? The only character I see with that name on that realm doesn't seem to have a service attempt initiated.

That is the character she is attempting to Faction Change? Does she see the transaction listed on the following page?

I hesitate to make the thread a sticky, Twiddiseld. In my experience as soon as you do a lot of people jump into it on similar but usually unrelated issues. Tomorrow when transfers and faction changes increase processing time you will likely see people who aren't having the same issue you are jumping into this thread or one of our previous ones.

As for an update, I'm sorry to say I am still working on getting one. As I mentioned before this matter is being investigated and a resolution determined. Though I can guarantee that this matter is of a high importance, getting an update while they are working on the project an ETA is difficult until more is known. I am very sorry for the lack of information thus far, I do hope to have something in the next day or so.

Alright. I received word that an change was implemented during last nights maintenance that may have resolved the error many of you have been experiencing.

Once the service is back up if one of you can attempt to use it and check back that would be appreciated.

Can you try clearing your cookies/cache and reloading your browser, Foxxi? Perhaps try an alternate browser (i.e. if you are using Internet Explorer try Firefox or vice versa). It does appear that these services are online and clearing the files or switching browsers seems to get rid of that message.
