We are indeed offering 7 days of free game play to many inactive accounts. The email you've received, Applebottom, is more than likely official correspondence.

Now, I appreciate your caution, so I understand if you do wish to click on any links within the email's body. That's okay! You can also check to see if one of your accounts qualified for this promotion by logging into Battle.net Account Management. Once logged in, if you see a little box at the top of the page that reads "Claim Your Free Game Time!," then you're golden. :)
