There is a third group that is bigger: some players chose healing because they want to raid with others and be successful, and someone has to do it. Many of us would much rather relax and sit in the back playing a Mage and cast a few spells and have plenty of time to dodge the fire and not have the raid wipe if we miss one stupid GCD, but not everyone can do that.

Blizz says they want to make healing "more strategic". It's already "more strategic" than the other roles, in addition to being more frantic: Do I have time to remove that curse from the DPS between CHs thru the melee? Is that damage that the Rogue took about to repeat or can I wait a GCD to heal him? I'm going to have to move in five seconds, and will only have small heal available, what do I have to do before then, and what will I have to do immediately after I stop moving? What big damage is incoming soon, and is everyone okay to take it?

Unless you can really take away some of the other load that's already piled on the healers please don't add any more.

We'd rather make healing fun for the players who like to heal rather than make healing easy for the players who hate to heal but do it anyway.

Trust me, this isn't fun:

/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Divine Plea + CD to mitigate effect
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Light

Is

/cast Ho...no, I'll cancel that one.
.
.
/twiddlethumbs
.
.
/cast Holy Light
/cast Holy Lig... no, I'll cancel that one.
.
.
/waitaround
.
/cast Holy Light

Super fun?

Here we have the common two extremes. Clearly there can be nothing in the middle!

How about?

/cast Flash of Light
/cast Flash of Light
/cast Holy Shock
/cast Flash of Light
/cast Holy Light
/cast Flash of Light
/cast Holy Shock

Now imagine paladins have another heal spell to throw in there too. Madness, I know.
