So we've been told that the mastery system will be used to "more easily tweak" a class's dps according to how they're performing.

Since we didnt actually get a flat damage increase mastery like some other dps specs, i was just curious how the heck that would actually work.

I could really only think of two ways.

1. Increase the proc rate on overload, which i dont really like the idea of. More RNG.

2. Actually incease the amout of damage an overload spell can do. So instead of only overloading for 50 percent of the spell' s original damage, your overloads might hit for 65 percent of the original spell's damage. That would also probably be flexible in which spells get what percent. For example : Lightning bolt overloads for 65 percent , lavaburst still only does 50 percent, and CL and shock spells do maybe 60.

Either way though i still think blizz should reconsider the RNG feel of elemental dps.

Edit*:Edited for typo.

Adjusting the third bonus is dangerous, because that is the one tied to mastery rating on gear. If we make that stat too good, then you might want mastery at the expense of crit or haste and get offended if there isn't tons of mastery on your tier sets.

Adjusting the first two passives, especially the first one, which is just damage for Elemental, is a lot safer. It's not a huge deal if Elemental gets 0.25 % damage per talent point spend and Enhancement gets 0.21 % damage per talent point spent as long as the end result of dps is pretty close.*

* - "pretty close" will be defined by players as "nobody should ever beat me, irrespective of encounter, gear or my own personal button mashing routine." :)
