Keeps Disconnecting - Battlenet dropouts

Only started this morning since overnight shutdown.

Getting CONSTANT disconnections from battlenet - then reconnects - and about 30 to 60 sec later DISCONNECTION.

This ONLY started today since the shutdown, Nothing has changed on my end.

Home lag is fine (under 500).

World lag is all over the place. Sometimes 0, other times over 3k.

I zone to a new area, no mobs show up. The game lags out and is unplayable then total disconnection.

Have rebooted the router, have rebooted the PC. Any other network connectivity is FINE.

I'm with TPG, Australia.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Mogrùm,

Your latency is taking a huge hit as your connection travels across the ocean between hops 5 and 6.

You can try doing a full powercycle followed by a DNS flush. I don't think that will solve the issue, but it's always worth a shot.

Powercycle Instructions: (please be sure to follow the instructions exactly as written--you may want to print or write them down, as you'll be shutting down your computer).

    1. Turn off your computer.
    2. Unplug your router you have from the wall.
    3. Unplug the modem from the wall and ensure that all the lights go out. Some modems have a battery backup--if the lights do not go out after unplugging it, then you will need to remove the battery from the modem as well.
    4. Wait two minutes.
    5. Plug the modem into the wall (and reinsert battery if needed).
    6. Wait one minute.
    7. Plug the router back into the wall.
    8. Wait one minute.
    9. Turn on the computer.

DNS Flush:
[ul]1. Open a command prompt (XP: Start>Run>type cmd)(Vista/7: Start>type cmd>right-click the cmd program that appears and select Run as Administrator)
2. type ipconfig /flushdns

We’re in need of more information to investigate these latency issues. If you're a customer of TPG and are experiencing high latency, then please provide a trace route directly to your realm along with your current location.

To find the IP address of your realm, check here:
http://www.wowpedia.org/US_realm_list_by_datacenter

Now perform a trace route to that IP address to map the route you take to the realm.
1. Go to Start/Run
2. Type "cmd" to bring up the DOS window in the Run command box.
3. Type "tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx > "C:\trace.txt" in the DOS window (Use the IP from the above link)
4. Wait for the command prompt to appear again, about 1 minute.

Now the file called trace.txt should hold the trace route you took to the realm. Please post that information.
