Yeah, I didn't post it here, I posted it in the general forums and it was moved. Can't have people seeing it of course.

The General Discussion forum wouldn't be an appropriate location for such a topic, Maeik. It has nothing to do with visibility.
Q u o t e:

Okay, I get it, you're all bots spouting irrelevant drivel in a lame attempt to obtain green text.

The majority of the posts are an attempt to explain to you how the system works and that if you feel our policies should be changed you'll want to post where those who make such decisions can review your feedback. Comments like you just made is the equivalent of saying "You didn't agree with me completely, I'm taking my ball and going home. Na na na na, I'm not listening".

The point that the others were attempting to make is trying to explain to you that we do not generally close accounts for a first violation. Our goal is to educate our players not silence them. Thus we action based on the severity of the offense as well as the history of the account. If a player continues to violate our policies they work their way up the penalty volcano which will lead to temporary suspensions and eventually closure of the account.
Q u o t e:

How much publicity do you need to do something about this? Or is Blizzard okay with openly racist guilds using their forums to preach hate?

As long as such guilds abide by our policies they may include or exclude whomever they want. If their name and communications within the game abide by our Terms of Use it is unlikely we will become involved. What an individual or guild does on their private website is their business.

And when they do this? [Removed]

Then a forum account gets a temp suspend, that's all. I don't think that's appropriate in the slightest. But thank you for your courteous reply anyhow.

In such a case, if the post is reported via the bio-hazard symbol, then our Moderation Team will look into the report and take appropriate actions based on our Code of Conduct.
Q u o t e:

Riight. Because it's better to just cover up problems, wouldn't want any pressure to resolve the larger issue.

What are you talking about, Maeik, no one is covering anything up. We do not permit cross-linking. If you have an issue with a post made use the proper method to report it. Reports made via the bio-hazard symbol are taken in the order they are received. It should also be noted, Maeik, that you are not one of the ones that actually used the bio-hazard symbol to report the post.

So please, instead of stopping your feet about the injustice of it all. Try using the reporting methods that have been put in place.

Nobully's link is actually to a thread I addressed in this forum. It's fine. :)

That being said this is usually a red button issue for most people and I have never found that such discussions can carry on for very long before someone steps out of bounds. Since I would rather not be forced to suspend someone I'll lock this thread now.

As stated, please use the methods of reporting that are available. I will agree that it would be nice if such comments are never used but that is not the world we live it. We can only react to statements used and take appropriate actions when necessary.
