yea but is it possible to play in australia on a dif cd key?

CD keys are attached to accounts. You shouldn't be on your friends account no matter which region you are trying to sign in on.

Am I to understand you have an existing EU account? You should be able to play fine, but you'll either need to fix your realmlist to work (which btw - isn't recommend and may not always), or install the EU client on that machine (in just a different directory).

An EU account cannot play on US realms, no - because you don't have an account here. The same is true in reverse.

Does that help at all?

no i ment im trying to play my account on another computer that is set up for us like when i go to log into my account throught his cd key set up game it coems up with this message "There was a problem logging in with this account. You may not have a world of warcraft game attached to your account (which i do) or you may be logging into a region different from the one you created the account in."

Yes, sounds like you are trying to log into the US region with an EU account. That won't work.

so what i cant play my account over here?

You need to point the US version to the EU realms (although that is a work-around and not supported) or simply install the EU version of the software on the system you are using.

well how do i do the work around also can u help me with my other thread?

The 'proper' way to do is is install the EU version.

Brynhildur above is giving you tips on how to edit your realmlist for this purpose. Note - that isn't supported by us and occasionally different regions may be out of sync with each other version-wise and cause issues.

Forgive my ignorance but I am (almost) completely PC illiterate..

I am moving from Australia to the UK next month. I understand that I may not be able to access my current server and toons (Cealestraz) but does this mean I have to start all over again?

I bought WOW online and downloaded it so not sure itf that makes a difference.

I assumed (stupidly) that I would be able to transfer my toons to a UK server but now am I right in thinking that this is not the case? I would prefer to stay with my server (and guild) but at least I want to be able to retain all of my characters..

Can I get some VERY simple advice please?

Thanks :-)

If you are currently playing in the US region, on a US account - you are certainly more than welcome to continue to do so.

If you wish to establish an account in the EU region realms, you'd need to start all over - with a new account, new characters, new upgrades, yes.

You can play in any region from anywhere in the world. EU and US have totally separate realms and account systems. To play in their respective realms you just need that version of account, they can be played from any location.

Does that make sense?

o ok well i will have to buy another warcraft client also i ment could you help me with my other thread the one about my config folder missing something to play wow

If you already have the region account you wish to play on, you already have everything you need except the client software on your new machine. No need to repurchase anything unless you actually wish to change regions, just download the software.

You should be able to obtain that version through the EU website, Reaping.

Try this page, Reaping.

WTFfolder missing something thats the other thread i was asking you about see if you knew the problem

The WTF, Cache and Interface folders are the ones you will be instructed to move, rename or delete when you do a full reset UI.

Those recreate themselves when you log back in the next time and should not pose an issue if they aren't there currently.
