While always annoying, usually I didnt see people spamming this until later at night. Now people are doing it during the day which completely ruins any chance at using trade chat. If someone links a profession, says WTB/WTS, or is LFG, that message is swept away quickly by this disgusting trolling. Every time I see it I report the people doing it only to see them doing it again either the following day or a couple of days later.

People who do this are clearly doing so with the intention of griefing the people who actually use trade chat properly and they should be punished as such. I understand Blizz isnt looking to throw out bans like candy because in the end, if they ban someone then they just cost themselves money. But why not take away their chat privileges? I know about the supposed pyramid for penalties but clearly its not enforced when you have the same people ruining trade day after day.

Q u o t e:
Right click their name and use the Report Spam feature. If enough people do this they will be squelched until review by a GM and will be delt with accordingly.

Correct!

Q u o t e:
so much easier to put players on ignore then to get you virtual panties twisted.

Actually, the right-click Report Spam option does temporarily /ignore every character on the reported account. Additionally, we value the reports of our players, and the efforts of those who strive to create a World of Warcraft that is better for all players.

We do not subscribe to the 'ignore it and it'll go away' school of thought. On the same token, it isn't logistically feasible for us to 'patrol' every realm, so player reports are essential to our efforts.

Also, please select a more appropriate character name from which to post further on this forum.
