Here is my version of the changes that will be made to the priest class in cataclysm. Enjoy!

New Priest Spells

Shadow Cage (level 81): Summons a cage made of shadow magic imprisoning the target and preventing all actions for 10 seconds. Any damage will remove the effect. Only one target can be caged at a time. Only works on Beasts, Humanoids and Demons.

Unstoppable Will (level 83): The priest focus with such determination that the next 3 spell cast within 8 seconds become uninterruptable and While focused, you do not feel pity or remorse or fear and you cannot be stopped unless killed. 3-minute cool down.

Soul Lightning (level 85): Hurls a lightning bolt from their own body at a target causing holy damage to an enemy, or healing to an ally and then jumping to additional allies or enemies. Each jump reduces the damage or healing by 20%. Affects 3 total targets. Priest takes 5% of healing or damage done to them after the last jump. 12-second cool down


Changes to Abilities and Mechanics

• All Priest damage-over-time (DoT) spells will benefit from crit and haste innately (including Shadow Word: Pain). Haste will no longer act to reduce the DoT's duration, but rather to add additional ticks. When reapplying a DoT, you can no longer "clip" the final tick. Instead, this will just add duration to the spell.
• Devouring Plague will no longer be limited to one target, but instead will increase health gained by Vampiric Embrace on the target by 200%
• Mind Sear will now affect the targeted mob and be adjusted accordingly
• Shadowfiend will scale better with stamina as well as give 5% total mana back on death baseline.

New Talents and Talent Changes

• Soul Warding will now in addition to its current affect convert any remaining absorption of a shield on a target to a HoT over 10-seconds
• Lightwell will now cast a HoT onto any target you cast a single target healing spell on and crit for 20 % of its healing done. It will still retain its current effective charges and use.
• We plan on adding a new spell to the holy tree, Relief, it consume any HoT effects on the target from the priest and instantly heal the target for 80% of the remaining healing.
• We plan to add a new talent, Controlled Pain, which will give Shadow Word: Death a chance to refresh the cool down on Mind Blast.
• With Improved Shadowform you fade will reduce your chance to be hit by 15%
• Shadow Word: Death will now do additional damage to targets below 25% health.
• We plan on adding a new talent to the shadow tree, Shadow Embrace, a 15 second debuff that when placed on the target has a chance on hit (direct spells only) to proc Shadow Suffering, a stacking debuff of 10% of damage done that will consume the target after the debuff runs out. *Added later*

Weakening: The damage caused by all spells is increased X% per DoT on the target, will increase with mastery.

Absorption: Spells such as Power Word: Shield and Divine Aegis when broken will nullify X% of damage done, will increase with mastery.

Radiance: All over-healing will have X% chance to proc a HoT on the target for the full amount over-healed over 12-seconds, Will increase with mastery.
