I was trying to log in today, and all of a sudden I need an authentication code to log in. It was working fine last night I was on it until 1 A.M. Pacific time, so I don't know what to do. Please help!

Q u o t e:
It would appear that your account has been compromised. Whoever gained access to your account (likely a hacker) has added an authenticator to make getting your account back harder.

First thing's first - scan your computer for malware or keyloggers. Make sure your computer is clean before trying to log back in. While it's scanning, read http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=14318909866&sid=1 for more information on what you can do. There are a number of other stickies to help with getting your account back.

Next, call Billing. The wait times on the phone are likely going to be quite long, but they WILL get to you as soon as they can. Don't hang up if you get into the queue. If you get told that the queue is currently fully, continue to call back or hit redial since a spot in the queue can open up at any point.

Finally - get an authenticator. The key fob can be purchased through the Blizzard store, or if you have a mobile device that supports the mobile authenticator you can get that one instead. The mobile one is free for some devices and can be installed right away, but not all devices support it. (I use the mobile one and it's a nice little security blanket.)

I'm sorry that this happened to you, but hopefully you'll get it all sorted out quickly! Good luck!

This is excellent information, Timsy. Thank you.

One more question, I ran all my programs and found it and destroyed it, but now I'm curious on how to remove the authenticator code? Is that where contacting Billing comes in?

Yessir. The following portion of the Compromise Info Center is particular informative:
