So I just got an email saying my account is suspended for 3 hours and got a password reset. I think I might of been hacked not sure? A character on the account I'm talking about is Zwayla on Bleeding Hollow. Can a GM look into this please.

It doesn't immediately appear that the account is compromised, Newport. It would appear that recent chat activity resulted in a temporary suspension though.

Once you are able to log back in some chat restrictions may still be in place. Those restrictions should lift within 24 hours. As with all account actions you will want to contact our Account Administration department for further information.

Oh gosh you were bad, nevermind then! =)

I wouldn't necessarily say bad. I'm afraid I'm not able to go into much detail.

The GM here in the forum reviewed what you were suspended for. He more or less confirmed that it was not a misunderstanding, a mix up, or anything of the kind.

To be clear I did not confirm any actions taken, I only confirmed that recent chat activity may have contributed to the resulting actions.

Though there is a certain degree of transparency with many of our policies and procedures that does not apply to all possible actions taken. We avoid giving specifics in some cases simply to avoid the possibility of abuse of a particular system.

Folks, Newport was simply trying to gain some understanding in the hopes of preventing any future actions. Let's not turn it into an argument and continue to assume the worst.

This is enormously misguided. Secret laws are considered a bad idea in real life for exactly the opposite reason. Clear rules and penalties promote law and order, and it's been this way for thousands of years. We have civil code for just this reason. If you want a good example of why secret laws don't work look at China and Russia and see how much respect they have for rule of law.

You misunderstand, Aestu. Our policies are fairly clear and beyond account specific issues I can usually provide clarification if needed . What is not entirely transparent, and what I was referring to, are particular procedures, detection methods, and mechanics in place.
