So i came here saturday with the same question and nothing has been changed. I failed to complete the paid race change service because the credit card number wasn't accepted so i just closed out of the browser. now when i open up wow i can't log onto this guy and it gives me the message "you cannot log in until the character update process you recently initiated is complete'. The blizzard poster told me to call 18005925499 but that always has 'high call volume' and i have yet to actually speak to anyone. This is kind of frustrating and hoping you guys can fix this since i can't talk to anyone on the hotline you told me to call.
If you check the following section of the Account Management page, Zonke, you should have the option available to cancel the previous Character Race Change request.
Upon canceling that request the character should once again be available for use almost immediately. Please let me know if you continue to experience difficulties.
