This may have been answered before...

My friend has quit wow recently, and instead of letting his hard work rot he was thinking of giving me his account.

Now I know account sharing is (was?) against TOC but its no longer sharing if hes not playing.

If its not against toc for what ever reason is there a way to get his toons onto my account? His account is battle netted as is mine on separate .net accounts.

Its a long stretch but I figured I would ask first lol.

As others have answered this, I won't go into the can't transfer, gift portions of the TOC - they are correct, you cannot.

I would like to address what happens when an account goes inactive. It's fine, it should be there as is if he returns. It's not going to 'rot', in other words.

Now, we do sometimes see accounts that have been inactive a long time and compromised while the player was away. That is something to be wary of. Make absolutely sure before leaving that the system being used is secure. Wouldn't hurt to change the email on the account and password before letting an account go inactive either - just as an extra precaution.

I'd even go so far as to say put an authenticator on it to keep any unwanted intrusion out should the information have gotten out into the wild somehow.
