72 hour suspension for gold exploiting

I'm the GM of my guild and just last night an officer in my guild received an e-mail regarding gold exploiting, now obviously that is not the case as i had passed over 120k on character (the GM) to the officer so that she can pass the gold out individually among the raiders in my guild.

Instead of letting all the players in my guild have access to the guild bank what we have been doing and has worked for several years now. We accumulate the gold and once the guild bank hits a certain amount we take the gold out and split it among the raiders in the guild, ICC has been a major sucess with the BOEs for our guild and we average out to 120-150k every few weeks.

Now im wondering why the officer was banned for 72 hours when clearly there was no exploiting involve just simply a GM of our guild(me) passing along the gold to an officer to split among the raiders in my guild.

Please address this issue.

Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension
Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

This suspension happened because one or more characters on the account were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.

the email above was received from the officer in my guild. I have no idea how you guys can relate the gold being exchanged for real world currency. If you can track a player receiving 120k then you can also track that the same player also sent out 30 in-game mails to the players in my guild containing 4k each.

Player in question is Perculia on Elune.

(Obviously she cannot post on her acc)

Your officer will have to email [email protected] to explain the situation and dispute the account action.

I'm sorry if this situation caused any distress or confusion.

The quoted post is correct, and though I can appreciate why there may be some confusion, if you believe that this suspension was applied in error, then please advise your officer to email [email protected] from the email address registered to the specific account. Our staff will review the situation and make an appropriate determination at that time. We are unable to accept such disputes issued on behalf of another player.

Also, your guild member may feel free to post here on the Customer Service forum (as well as our Technical Support forum) freely using a Trial account, if he or she wishes.

Thanks for the reply - this is Perculia posting on my 2nd account (the same account Oluchi is on, posting on this character instead from now on for the sake of clarity and name-similarity to my main).

I emailed [email protected] from my main account's email, filled out the form from http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/exploitfaq, and also called Blizzard - but they said the situation could only be resolved via Account Management, which was solely online. So here's hoping my email/form request goes through quickly - I appreciate anything you can do to speed this up, as it is a busy progression time for us.

Here is the text I used in the email/account exploit form:

I believe the action in question was that last night, the lvl 1 GM of JC traded my main (Perculia) 120000g to divide among 30 raiders for our monthly mailing. In general, we give out 3k gold every month to cover repair costs and as a reward for motivation/progression, we sweetened the pot with an extra 1k for all this past month. Since we don't allow members full access to the guild bank and gold, this is a way to help them with progression raiding costs. You should be able to check the 30 mails Perculia sent out to the E-Thug/Officer rank members of JC soon after at 12pm est. I can see how a lvl 1 trading over a large amount of gold would appear suspicious at first, but you should be able to track and see how all the gold mailings were from guildmates, and how the gold was acquired from icc auctions. We have used the system of a lvl 1 GM for most of wrath.

As Stephynnie covered in the thread, the 120000k gold was acquired via selling BOEs, saronite, flasks, and other items from raiding. As Stephynnie wrote on the thread "Instead of letting all the players in my guild have access to the guild bank what we have been doing and has worked for several years now. We accumulate the gold and once the guild bank hits a certain amount we take the gold out and split it among the raiders in the guild, ICC has been a major sucess with the BOEs for our guild and we average out to 120-150k every few weeks. "

I would appreciate a quick reply as this is a very busy progression week for us.

Thank you for your consideration.

You're on the right track, and I hope our staff are able to review your case soon! I would just like to clarify that Customer Service Forum Representatives are not in a position to influence or expedite these communications with Account Administration though.
