Do you help new players?

Given some of the discussions on the forums lately, I thought I'd start a conversation on whether or not you go out of your way to help new players (or help along the way) and what sorts of things do you like to do to help?

Also, does your guild or even your realm run events to help new players ever? If not, would you ever consider it?
