I got 2 emails in the last week about my WoW account, I thought they looked legit, until I clicked the link and my google chrome told me it was a fraudulent site, although looking at the URL is kinda a dead giveaway. Just wondering if you guys are making the general wow playing population aware of these new scams.

Greetings

An investigation of your World of Warcraft account has found strong evidence
that the account in question is being sold or traded. As you may not be aware
of, this conflicts with Blizzard's EULA under section 4 Paragraph B which can
be found here:
WoW -> Legal -> End User License Agreement
and Section 8 of the Terms of Use found here:
WoW -> Legal -> Terms of Use

The investigation will be continued by Blizzard administration to determine the
action to be taken against your account. If your account is found violating the
EULA and Terms of Use, your account can, and will be suspended/closed/or
terminated.
In order to keep this from occurring, you should immediately verify that you are
the original owner of the account.

issues. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter, and your
continued interest in World of Warcraft.

Clearly on that one the site is a fraud, as WoW would never use some retarded site like that.

That's the other one, but if you mouseover or click the link, it takes you to bott1a.net instead of battle, the sites look pretty legit.

Here's the link to the 2nd scam site.

The following response was written by one of our new teammates. Because they are still in training and do not yet possess a forum account of their own, they shall be posting via proxy through me.

These are indeed phishing scam emails Jiro. Good eye catching the fakes =). If you would be so kind, please forward these in their entirety to [email protected] and they will be happy to address them appropriately. In the mean time, if you, or anyone else is interested in a bit more information on these scams as well as ways to help protect yourself against them, I’d recommend checking out the following sticky:
