Why do people hate on experimental specs?

So today I finaly got my warrior to 80 and decided to gear her up by doing some random heroics. I got some friends to tank and dps since my warrior would probably go "splat" on some bosses.

We couldn't fill the group, so we ended up queueing to get some random person, and we got this priest who immediately asked why was I in prot gear (I leveld my warrior as prot). I told her that it wouldn't matter since my friends do tons of damage (Tank with 40kish hp and hunters with 4k GS), and prot spec itself does tons of damage too compared to what it did during BC, you see some prot warriors topping damage charts nowdays, but she was still outraged about it. She decided to not heal and ended up leaving.

The Dungeon we were doing was Heroic AN, after she left we got another priest and finished the dungeon with ease.

I don't get why she left, she had an easy to heal tank and 2 DPS's that make up for a chumpy one.

I've gotten into groups where something made me nervous that the run might be a bit painful. Even still, I never just left -- I always gave it at least a couple of shots. Besides it's kind of silly to leave because you're afraid that one of the dps may put out subpar damage.
