Authenticator Lock. 3 times in a week.

I have had my authenticator locked by blizzard 3 times now in the last week. Frankly, im tired of it. I work until midnight every night and I have to wait until 8am every day to unlock my authenticator. Can someone please tell me why they are doing this repeatedly and how I can stop it? Thanks in advance. My computer does not have any malicious software. Or keyloggers. I have scanned my PC. I do not know what else to do.

When I log into the wow website I get "The authenticator attached to this account has been locked due to multiple failed attempts. Please contact billing to unlock it" This is the 3rd time I will have had to call billing. If that provides any clarity.


How many attempts do you make before you get that message, Matheo?

This is one of two things, well - possibly three things.

1) You are mistyping something enough times the account thinks it is under attack and is locking - that is working as intended actually.

2) Someone ELSE has your information and the account thinks it is under attack and is locking - that is also as is intended....but you need to be concerned how someone else is getting your information.

3) Authenticators can occasionally become de'sync'd. That is fairly rare, but results in an invalid number being given - that would be either an issue of the authenticator not working quite properly - or possibly asking for a code from it and taking too long to enter it into the field logging in. Each code is only good for a short period of time.

It is usually the mobile's that have this issue.

From the description, it's pretty much impossible to know which scenario is coming into play. Even a keyfob can be reset on our end if needs be.
