quest exclamation marks for quests that a character is much too low level for?

trying to quest in areas where one is too low level is such a drag right now. im 70 and starting to quest in outland i got to 70 by instancing, now i wanna do all the quests, but none of them are shown anywhere ingame. so i cant really pick them up w/o talking to all npcs to make sure they dont have one....

its annoying.

make a way to detect lowbie quests! other than thottbot please.

make the mark be red. make it be green. make it be smaller. make it not be an exclamation mark but some other symbol. just make something happen :\

We do have a change that should help that is going in the 2.3 patch.

- Quests that are much below your level will now have the tag (Low Level) in the gossip pane attached to the quest. This will make it easier to tell which quest to accept when a quest giver has both low and high level quests.

yes but what about giving quest givers, who only offer quests which are gray to you, some sort of mark?
this would really help with finding quests to do in lowbie zones for rep. grinds =/

The idea has been brought up before, but we want to avoid having areas flooded with icons too.

When you go to a new quest hub, aren't there a lot of icons up as well? I don't think anyone would complain about it. And make it possible to disable in the interface options. Easy.

There are icons up for quests you can take, sure. At a certain point, those icons no longer show up though. Sometimes you'll still see it but it has, both a low level quest and a higher level quest.

While I fully understand what the OP has put forth, I thought it might be at least worthwhile to point out that there is a change that is related to it that is noted in the patch notes.

I can't give you anything more than I have already. I can say that the request is noted and give the feedback to the Development Team, but I certainly can't say that it is being implemented for you if it's not.

Actually, with the changes in 2.3, you can see if NPCs have a quest with the mouse over on them (quest-givers show an exclamation point now, innkeepers change the cursor to a hearthstone, smiths to an anvil, etc.) - it is kind of a neat change and that icon switch does show up for NPCs that have quests that are "too low" for you.

Yeah, it would be nice to be seeing the exclamation over their head as an option, but this is a first nice step - on hover you can identify which npcs have quests available in 2.3.

That one is in too, yes. I was looking to see if we had it noted yet. Looks like more additions still need to go into the notes. ;) Given that it's on the test realms, I think people can expect more to be added in to the notes.

I thought I'd expand on this as well.

There is a way to choose what icons are displayed on the mini map so that you can choose to display any of the placements for the following:

Repair
Food & Drink
Reagents
Innkeeper
FlightMaster
BattleMaster
Class Trainer
Profession Trainers
Auctioneer
Banker
or None at all.

Will it be possible to track more than one at once?

Currently, it will show the exclamation points for the quest givers in that area and one other that you choose to track.

Since this topic is brought up.

Is there anyway to take off the "!" on your minimap?

I don't believe there is currently a way to turn those off.
