Eyonix's Shaman is elemental

My priest is my healer. I'm elemental with my shaman, and balance with my druid. Though, I've experimented with healing on the other two characters. I enjoy healing the most, though it's fun to play as a dps character too, and it's especially a nice change of pace sometimes.

First of all, I think that's cool since I've always loved Elemental. And it's nice to know he has one even though we are still seeing math that says the lightning changes are a nerf.

I wondered, though, if Eyonix would care to share some of his shaman's stats with us. Rate the CM shaman above you, if you will-- though he wouldn't link us to his armory of course.

It'd give us an interesting frame of reference to understand how he sees elemental shamans.

--

Wow my thread got long overnight! I really wanted to thank Eyonix for the reply-- I didn't make this post as an attempt to "find" him. I could do that at Blizzcon.

I felt, like someone later in the thread already said, that I was really excited to know someone at blizzard was really playing an elemental shaman. A TON of people play WoW at my work and I am the only one I know of who plays a shaman.

As for your stats, it is enlightening. I know you would not have the time or possibly the desire to play any character really hardcore. It would be very cool if you kept us up to date on the fuzzy details.

I think we'd be pretty excited to see the day you post: "Guys I got a lightning capacitor last night and went around playing machine gun shaman all night! You should have heard what my friends said when I one shotted the mob they were killing"

Thanks again for the response.

Providing the information you seek would be enough for clever players to find me, more than likely. I will give you a few details. Keep in mind, this is by far the worst geared of my 3 70s, as it's my newest 70 -- so go easy on me.

Unbuffed Information (going to give a range for purposes of protecting my play character):

Spell damage: 500-550
Spell Crit: 19% - 21%
Attack Power 1100 - 1300 (I kid, I kid!)
mana 9000 - 9500 -- basically it's over 9000!

2 items = greens
1 item = epic
rest of the items = 70 blues, except 2 which are high 60s.

Laugh all you want but I'm getting there though and having fun in the process. :)

Plus, I get to play with my mom and brothers now that I'm playing this character.

So, I can see why you support this change to shaman!

I expected that, honestly. Leave those comments for other threads -- no joke. I'll be popping in some good game play threads soon. Be patient, in the meantime.

I doubt he'd do anything specific. There's always the possibility of some smart guy scanning the armory for shamans with exact stats ~_^

Everyone, I promise you that I'm aware of everything being reported on the public test realms and in this forum. When the time is right, I'll give you some details. Lets not make this thread the, "my chance to get information about the thing I want to know".

And I mean you no offense, Spacetotem. I understand that this is important.

I've responded to numerous "serious questions/threads" as of late but you'll see what you want to see. And this IS "serious" to some.

Please, don't do down this path. It does no good for anyone.

I totally misread the part about the mom at first.

Yeah, got her in my guild a few weeks ago -- it's awesome. I thought I was very friendly in game, she's so nice it hurts. :P

Eyonix is serious today he is gettign his Quotes down and EVERYTHING

Yeah, I realized the problem later that day. It had to do with my browser at home. Was off that day, and while I'm used to posting at home, I was trying to keep up with the number of new questions and comments coming in that, well, I failed . :)

I gave you some pretty strong credit in the post I made and linked, I hope you get a chance to read it. I'm not going down a negative path, I was being very professional about it. Yes, you have made a very valliant attempt to reach out to us, and it's appreciated! But the biggest questions remain unanswered and all we want is for you to say something about those things.

Make you a deal, I'll read that entire thread before I leave today, if you agree to remain patient. I may or may not respond (at least immediately), I'll say that in advance.

I wouldn't have promised if I didn't fully plan to come through with my end of the bargain.

Eyonix, you never should have answered this question. It's like the armory -- nothing but a reason for people to shut off their brains and say "your opinion is invalid because of your gear/talent spec/arena rating/guild name" since math and logic are hard. Because apparently blue gear from 70 instances spontaneously appears in your inventory once you ding, you have no experience, and nothing you say, no matter how valid, will carry any weight. Say "shaman starts with 'sh'" and you'll be answered with derision.

I don't care about those comments, honestly. There are so much people don't understand when they make them. I'm half tempted to address those types of comments, but I'm not sure it would accomplish anything productive.

People have been finding ways to discredit me on these boards for three years. That's never going to change.

Eyonix, no offense, but personally I'm tired of being patient.

Its been a long time since 1.11 and there are a ton of issues that never got looked at, such as anticipation, shield spec, toughness and ancestral fortitude being very weak talents.

I don't have the illusion anymore that there will be changes for the better.

Honestly, if you have no more patience as a result of being upset with the game, there really is only one option for you. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if that's the way you really feel, I don't know what else to tell you.

I'll go ahead and the ask the question everyone has been waiting for -

What class does your mom play!?

Well, my mom has been playing a year and a half now. She made it a goal to level every character class to 30 (which she did - some twice). She has two characters above 40. I think they are both between 44 and 48. She's now finally focused on leveling her highest (hunter) to 70. Her favorite classes are the warlock and hunter because she "likes having a buddy". :)

I discredit you because you got the gout. Seriously, isn't that an illness from the middle-ages?

I don't want to be mean, but in the age of automatic bread makers and indoor plumbing I don't see how people get that.

What's next? Scurvy?

You post in ignorance which wouldn't be so bad except for how insensitive and unnessary your comment is. Why don't we keep this thread to Shaman, and maybe some light hearted humor, because this is afterall a game.

Thanks. It's hard to "get to me" after all these years. Sometimes things just need to be said, and I've always spoke my mind when I feel there is a greater good associated with doing so.

I think what some people are trying to get across and just lack the tact so say it properly is the following.

First it is awesome to know that someone at blizzard actually plays an elemental shaman.

however i think everyone who plays this game, in any class can admit there is a drastic difference with the way the game works at different levels and gear levels.

the troubles that face a player new to 70, in instance blues, is going to be different than the troubles a character in full epics who is clearing karahzan, and still different are the uber players who are working through black temple. and still different are the fears and troubles that a player who plays primarily PVP is facing.

when people do the math on the current changes, it has shown that in blues and lower crit gear, it is a buff. however someone who has scaled their gear up and has a much higher crit (when elemental i crit 32.4% of the time on lightning bolt) the math shows that our DPS does in fact go down.

and since our burst DPS goes down, it really hurts elemental PVP.

and before anyone yells at me for posting while resto, I have 3 complete sets of gear, and i regularly play all 3 specs.

Good post! :)

Hey Eyonix, I know this doesn't really have anything... at all... to do with shamans (My new main is a shaman, if that counts? o.O) but I've always wanted to know... How did you feel about being portrayed in World of Roguecraft, when "you" have to hush the crying rogues?

I always thought that was the funniest thing involving WoW I've ever seen.

P.S., thanks for the shaman info.

I thought it was awesome! People think many things about me -- often times things that aren't good or true. :) The fact is, I'm actually exactly where I want to be, doing exactly what is meaningful to me. Before joining the community team three years ago, it was my one and only goal out of all the areas one could advance towards here at Blizzard (been here nearly almost six years). I did much to make this goal happen, and even if it's not always apparent, and have done much since while on the team.

I love World of Warcraft, I love the community and I love Blizzard and the people. I enjoy the opportunity to play my role and make my dent. I could honestly ramble on explaining so many things, but I'm already risking "TLDR".

I realize my response apart from the first sentence reads as though it had nothing to do with your question, but it does, at least for me. Feeling like I'm part of this community is very important to me on so many levels, so how could I not enjoy something like that video? :)

Have....

You...

PVPed...

at all?

Or Raided?

at all?

Or ran a heroic?

at all?

Is your "epic" off the AH, from Molten Core, or player made?

Ya thats what I thought.

I want to say "go away, sad person", but instead, I'll answer.

Assuming we're only talking about this character:

PvP'd - have a 2v2 and a 3v3 and have been playing as much as possible.

Raided - Kara - I'm a little bit into revered with the Violet Eye. Now you know my epic. :P

"Is your "epic" off the AH, from Molten Core, or player made?"

Do you come off like a decent person in real life?

Ya thats what I thought.
