Damage bonus from healing

I have unfortunatly not checked deeply enough to know if shaman also will recieve bonus damage from +healing.

However I'm curious since I find it a bit ridiculous that people are going to have 500+ spell damage, and pretty easily might I add (getting +healing gear is not difficult). I guess what I'm getting at is with the new enhancement talent, it seems like elemental shaman will have similar spell damage maybe 200-300 above a healer, and enhancement shaman.

This just seems a bit... ridiculous considering that alot of the healing gear, has similar sta/int and often times crit or mp5... just like our dps pieces, so now it looks like alot of damage gear is scaling laughably in its utility compared to healing gear, which allows you to heal and dps...

I guess there is still a clear line between someone with 1000 spell damage specced elemental, but someone with similar crit/stats in healing gear can push 700 spell damage, and have the capability of healing (in pvp this seems astoundingly stupid to not use healing gear instead of dps gear).

Guess I'm just curious if we get additional spell damage from the +spell damage and "healing" will we now get more spell damage because of the "and healing"? are they reworking spell damage gear to be strictly spell damage, so it has higher values because it frees up item value points?

Shaman who are equipped in healing gear will receive bonus spell damage, yes. Healing gear is currently identified by this description, "Increases healing done by spells and effects by up to x." In patch 2.3, the item text to identify plus to healing will be modified to read, "Increases healing done by up to x and damage done by up to y for all magical spells and effects".

y = bonus spell damage approximately equal to 1/3 of the item's healing bonus.

There are a few items and enchantments where we weren't able to make this change, such as random-stat items and Zul'Gurub enchantments. In any case, the spell damage gained in this fashion is designed to make solo/grinding easier but really won't provide competitive damage when compared to stacking spell damage equipment. enchantment, gems, etc...
