Left WG raid.

Friend invited me to group.

Friend passed lead.

i put us in LFD.

intermittently it will say
"Looting changed to Master Looter"
"Loot Master changed to (player who is not in party)"
"You have joined the Raid group"
"You are not in a party"
"you are not in a raid group"

a box will come up on screen with something along thelines of "you are not in this parties instance you will be teleported to the nearst graveyard in 5 seconds"

i get ported back to where i was Pre-LFD (as if id used the teleport out feature or left the group)

"Party member1 has joined the party"
"Party member2 has joined the party"
"Party member3 has joined the party"
"Party member4 has joined the party"
"Looting changed to Need Before Greed"
"Looting threshold changed to Uncommon"
"dungeon difficulty set to Heroic 5 man"

then it all happens again 5 mins later

when i finally got sick of this glitch i tried:
Re-Logging
Restarting WoW
Restarting my computer
Joining a new group

now im out of any party its dumped me in the raid if i try to talk in /raid i get "you are not in a raid group"
if i try to leave the party i get "you are not in a party" even though i can open the raid browser (i cannot see my own name however) and "Group 5" is listed just above my name as if i was in a raid group.

oh and as i was writing this i got
"you have been promoted to master looter"
"you have been promoted to raid leader"

and i can now see my name in the raid window

however trying to remove other players or myself results in
"you are not in a party"

Edit: although it says im not in a raid group i cannot complete quest objectives.
also since im raid leader i tried to put eveyone in group one, it worked insofar as everyones name overlapped in slot 1 of group one but the bar above my name still remains as group 5

Edit #2
i have also just had someone invite me to a group, convert to raid then boot me from it. 5 mins later still got the same glitch

Something is indeed not well here.

Have you tried a full reset UI? Could be something conflicting in your addons, or an old addon setup.

I'd try that first, and then test it prior to adding any addons back in at all.

To do a full reset UI, you will want to save your addons in another spot if you wish to preserve them.

Then rename/delete or move your WTF, Cache and Interface folders while WoW is shutdown. Reboot your system.

Note, if you are running Vista make sure your permissions are set so it does not undo your changes.

More detailed instructions for different operating systems, including Macs are here.
