Issue Upgrading Trial Account

Hey -

I recently got recruited by a friend to try WoW. After leveling for a bit, I decided to upgrade my account to a full version of the game. When I went to do a direct online upgrade, I got a 202 error stating that Blizzard could not process my credit card information and that I should contact a billing representative.

Weird part is, I checked my bank account statement this morning, and I have a charge from blizzard for 20$, but my battle.net account says that my WoW account is still a trial. I haven't been able to get in contact with any Blizzard reps on the phone, so I was hoping someone could help me out here.

I can confirm that the account you are currently posting from, Huuoth, is still a trial account, and there are no upgrades pending at this time. Any charges that you see as a result of an unsuccessful upgrade attempt should be in a pending state, and those funds should normally be released back into your available balance within a few business days.

If you still wish to upgrade the account electronically, it would probably be best for you to contact our Billing and Account Services department for assistance.

Alternatively, you may also consider purchasing a physical copy at a retail store, and use the authentication key that is comes with to upgrade the trial account in question.

This is correct. We will not collect the funds for a pending transaction if the upgrade was not successful on your initial attempt.
