Hello,
I was outraged to hear my friend's WoW account was banned for a complete mistake/error. His account was emailed the following information:
Reason for Action: In-Game Chat Policy Violation - Advertisement and Spamming

This account was closed because a character on the account repeatedly abused World of Warcraft's in-game chat system. This abuse includes advertising third party services/websites and repeatedly spamming in-game chat channels. Abuse of this nature pollutes chat channels shared by all players and harms the game environment as a whole.

How can he be banned for In-game chat spamming for an account which has not been updated with subscription since January 19, 2010?

Im QQing on the forums cause i want answers, rather then watch my frustrated friend go threw the lag of email. And yes his account is banned from the forums.

Only your friend can follow-up on this, Decepttion.

But yes, if he didn't do this, chances are extremely good someone else has been onto his account and has.

He needs to do all the security steps and followup if this has been compromised just as soon as possible.
