Invalid Login while merging.

My friend is attempting to merge his account to a Battlenet account. He is on US Server Ravencrest. His has created the Battlenet account for the US not the EU. Upon trying to merge his WoW account on step one it comes with an "Invalid Login" message for his account name (using WoW account name not email address) (WoW account name is valid redirects to create BNet account). No his account has not been compromised. It has not been in use for 4 months. Could this be from non payment? I have trolled these forums looking at all the responses and attempting the fix for each one. All were fail. Toons name is Telandria on US Ravencrest. Looking for a blue response. Important details: innactive account, not compromised, BNet account created, Issue with Merging, Note on Screen 1 of merge "Invalid Login".

Not sure what may be up here, unless he actually has forgotten or is misspelling either his login or password.

Inactive shouldn't prevent him from merging to a Battle.net account.

He might want to try clearing his cookies and cache - or trying a different browser first, just to make sure this isn't a browser issue.

If that doesn't seem to help, a call to Billing may be in order for assistance.
