Recently i just stopped doing my daily heroic completely . its to the point that when i think about it i almost throw up .

The system is nice and all but there is place for improvement. The Q times for Dps are bad but i guess it's still better than making your own grp in most cases so can't really complain there. Thing is 15 mins of waiting and jumping in IF doing absolutely nothing ... Then after 15-20 min of Wait you get into a @$$%#$% instance such as Halls of lightning with crap geared people ..

Again this wouldn't be that bad once in a while but the problem is that everyday you have to do the Heroic daily and it's been a while now , so basically you've seen all dungeons 34534 times already . That's without counting :if you were a fresh 80 and farmed 300 + badges for your gear like i did , if you have multiple 80s... etc.

Honestly now when i join heroics i just spam FoK even if there's only 2 mobs . My Dps for my gear lvl is utter Sh*T but i simply don't care anymore. The heroics are just too easy . Now the only way to make heroics doable for me is to minimize wow in like 6x6 in the corner of my screen , just big enough so i can see and watch movies / stream on my pc while randomly pressing FoK ... Hell even for bosses i barely look at all....

I don't think its possible for me to enjoy heroics in their current form . Heroics are worthless .This Is a game and you are supposed to have fun but logging in and doing the heroic became a chore.

Recently we had a Server restart warning pop up as we entered HoL . It was nearly 3am . That was the most fun I've had in a while , we rushed HoL in 14 mins . Pulling 3-4 packs + bosses . We nearly wiped a few times in the last room with the dwarfs that whirlwind ... But it was fun , really fun. Couple ways to make heroics less annoying or more fun would be :

1- Add challenges that when completed gives a reward ( Badges , gems , chance at proto drake ,Cash , 245 BoE , Token to buy previous raid gear Ex: 40 token to buy ToC25 gear... ) Challenges could be things like Timed run , Kill all bosses of the instance at the same time , Killing a mob refreshes a 1 min debuff you get on entering , if you kill the last boss with the debuff on you get something...

2- Makes frost badges stack each time you don't do the daily . 7 days without doing a daily would give you 14 badges the next time you do... Could put a limit on the amount of days ... like 3. You'd have to do the heroics twice a week instead...

3-Previous Expac Heroics modified to lvl 80 heroics to have a better variety of dungeons.

Feel free to give you're suggestions too.

Some players like having a reason to still visit older content and a reason to do something on nights other than raid night, while other players want to be able to log in, raid, and be done for the week. It's hard to provide an incentive structure compelling enough for the first guy without the second feeling like he has to grind. The emblem system has a natural tapering off period where you start to get everything you need and have less and less a reason to keep earning them. But it can feel pretty overwhelming when a new tier starts and you're counting up the hundreds of badges you're eventually going to need.

The problem, and something for which we have a solution, is that the costs are balanced around the maximum badge income per week, which means doing both raids, the weekly raid quest, the weekly Icecrown raid quest, and a heroic run every night. That's a bit much for most players, but since the option is there, some feel like they have to do it. On the other hand, if you have more than one character you care about, then you could burn yourself out quick.

There are alternatives though. As a simple example, if you could run all your Dungeon Finder groups in one or two nights for the week without having to log on every night, it might feel less grindy to you. (Again, for some players doing anything more than a few times is going to feel grindy, but it's impossible for us to develop content faster than players can consume it.)

Q u o t e:
Just to clarify, are you suggesting you might allow unused daily dungeons to stack up charges (to a cap of 7) so that if we missed 2, we can just do 3 the next night?

I'm not trying to announce upcoming changes, just point out that there are some potential solutions to fix the parts of gathering badges that aren't fun.

Balancing the emblems around that flies in the face of everything we were told about the way the end game was designed. I remember blue posts time and time again that the raid game was balanced around doing 10 man OR 25 man. Used to be I could do 25 with my guild (at the time) and largely ignore 10 mans, except doing it once in awhile for achieves or with friends, but of course starting with ToC, there was that new pressure to farm emblems every week.

Yeah, the goal was to let players decide if they preferred 10 or 25. We let players run both because it provided extra content that felt somewhat optional (by which I mean that I suspect few guilds on 25 heroic are bothering with 10s these days) but we're not sure we'd make the same decision if we had to do it all over again.
