Hello jacob,

This e-mail notification is in regards to an account merge that has just been completed for a Battle.net account.

You have successfully merged the following World of Warcraft account:

<removed>

into the following Battle.net account:

p***@hotmail.com

From now on, you must use the above Battle.net account name and its password to play World of Warcraft. In addition, use the above Battle.net account username and its password to log in to other Blizzard online services such as World of Warcraft Account Management, the World of Warcraft Armory, and the Blizzard Store.

You should expect to receive a similar notification of this account merge which has also been sent to your World of Warcraft account e-mail address.

Now i dont know who "Jarnooz" is, but its not a friend or family member, and even if it was. all my passwords are unique and. i dont have them written out anywhere so unless they hacked my brain i dont know how they got into my Bnet account and Merged there WoW account with it.

Bottom line is, i want this authentication thing removed. i only restarted a few days ago and coming back to this really isnt helping me enjoy the game.

Kaoao may have been spamming last night, the hacker(s) have made that Character, not me. Level 1 rouge.

Anyway, Just please remove the authentication code. and i suggest getting rid of the whole Authentication code thing completely, i looked up how to get rid of it, and it seems to be causing alot more trouble than it is doing good. how about just adding more security questions?

anyway, please dont suggest Billing and Support. due to my work hours i can only contact the automated voice, not only is it really annoying, it doesnt say anything about authentication codes.

yours sincerly

Well, a merge - and an added authenticator are two different things.

And you are going to need to call Billing to verify your identity if an authenticator has been added. They are open 7 days a week, 12 hours a day.

In the meantime, you need to find the security breach that allowed someone enough information to add this - and I'd highly recommend getting an authenticator of your own.

-----------------------

If an account has been merged to a Battle.net, or if an email has been changed, or an authenticator added to the account (not the player's own) one of your first stops is going to be Billing. They need to get those sorted out first so the rest of the processes can continue.

Billing and Account Services
Phone Support - 1 (800) 59-BLIZZ (1 (800) 592 5499)
Live Representatives Available 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm Pacific Time
E-mail Support - Billing@Blizzard.com
Players in Australia should call 1-800-041-378
Players in Singapore should call 800-2549-9273
Players in Chile should call 1230-020-5554
Players in Mexico should call 001-888-578-7628
Players in Argentina should call 0800-333-0778
All other international players should call: (949) 955-0283

Now, it's very very important to figure out where the security breach occurred. If they CAN get back in, they WILL be back. That, unfortunately, you can count on.

These two stickies should prove helpful.

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.

so tell me how a keylogger gets through 4 virus scans from 4 different top of the range virus softwares

Easily if it's not an identified threat - or the software isn't kept updated.

Or if any other machine has been used to log in to game, or these forums or account administration.

Or if it's not a keylogger at all, but a response to a phish email.

Or about a million other ways they can trick a player out of their information.

You won't be able to add yours until the other is removed.

When is the last time you updated your other software - browser, Flash, etc?

You don't necessarily have to visit a 'bad' site for vulnerabilities to be exploited. They often use perfectly innocuous banner ads for their dirty deeds.
