Okay so last night i was doing a Slave Pens run, and i got a whisper from this character << removed >> on my server. It said i was a "lucky winner" and elligible for a mysterious suprise. So i put in my account info, and my friend told me that the gift was a scam. I immediately changed my password but i was just wondering, is this really a scam?

Good question! And the answer is: yes. The message you received was not from an employee of Blizzard Entertainment, and the website you visited was one of our own. Here's a bit more information: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=30829

Changing your password was a good first step. As I'm guessing you entered your registered email address, too, I'd encourage you to change that at this time, as well. You can do so through the Battle.net Account Management page under the "Change E-mail Address" option.

Not to be a stickler syndri, but shouldn't the player name be edited out of the post title and the first post?

In most situations where a player reports that he or she has received an in-game phishing attempt, the name is not edited. I'm happy to remove the name in this case, though, since many of you have expressed concern. :)
