Increase in hacked accounts...

I don't know if threads have been created before on this subject.... But am I the only one that notices perfect correlation with Blizzard/Battle.net merge and the increase in hacked user accounts?
Before the merge, hacked accounts were almost an urban legend... Somebody knew of someone who's friend's wife's uncle had been hacked. Since the merge at least 6 people in my guild have been hacked, and alot of friends outside of my guild as well. I went and bought myself an authenticator but not until after my boyfriend's account had been hacked.

What are your thoughts on the reason for the increased hack? Do yall think it is because they changed our usernames to our email, or could it be that Battle.net just generally has worse security features than Blizzard had... or if I drift off into conspiracytheoryville: Is it their new marketing for the authenticators? (Personally I don't think it is though.... Im putting my money on the email usernames)
