How'd this game go from Wailing Caverns to...

Trial of Champions?

I played it yesterday as tank on this druid <3 And it was magical o play it at a level appropriate time.

And while long (maybe even too long?), it was still a truly epic dungeon to go through with a PUG that stuck through it to the end. And nowadays, it's all about loot pinata ToC and VoA and yaddayaddayadda. It's way way too easy to play the game without knowing how to now.

I dunno, I just felt like even though it was ridiculously long just to unlock the last boss, it still felt like I acocmplished something. When I finish anything on my 80 spriest, it just feels like... "that's it?". No accomplishment factor, no exploring factor, nothin'.

I hope we get some news on the Cata dungeons soon and I hope we hear that it is a truly epic adventure just progressing through the dungeons, with elements of exploration, and different mobs, etc etc. because I'll be disappointed otherwise.

No, this is not a QQ about the game, I still love it, I just want epic throwback dungeons back in the game, because they are fun. To me, at least.

A lot of the older dungeons had a more sprawling feel to them and while that is good in some ways it made them very unpopular to a lot of players who couldn't dedicate the extended time to clearing them. The dungeons we have now are more accessible and we are continuing to work on maintaining that accessibility while still trying to provide a grand epic feel to them.

And for the record, I'd say Trial of the Champion is a fairly special case and not really something to use as a great example of how dungeons are done.
