Legal way to buy gold?

Recently on my server there has been an influx of people selling game-time cards and pandaren monks/lil' K.T. pets for gold.

Allowing these pets and timecards to be sold basically created a legal way to buy gold (10$ USD for 3-5K~ gold).

The only options I see to fix this are either legalizing goldbuying, or changing your decision to legalize the sale/trade of coded items for in-game gold. Trading card items similarly should be changed, but they are not available in bulk and there isn't a huge demand for them (800+ USD for the spectral tiger =/= 100,000g, neither are likely to be popular purchases) but with the massive availability of the Pandaren Monk/Lil' K.T. pets and gametime cards, there are entire businesses being set up selling them, and potentially selling the gold to gold-sales websites.

Thanks for giving this a read-over, I'll check this post for any updates.

P.S. Apologies for any spelling mistakes or misused words, I am most definitely not a writer or a lawyer.

The following response was written by one of our new teammates. Because they are still in training and do not yet possess a forum account of their own, they shall be posting via proxy through me.

As others have mentioned, selling real-world items, such as the codes for game time cards and Pet Store pets is indeed a violation of our policies. In-game gold can only be used to purchase in-game items and services. A solid guideline can be: if it is not something that can be placed in the trade window or affected by an in-game tradeskill, likely the transaction is unsupported by Blizzard.

In this case, if you see any player advertising to sell these kinds of items, or anything else you feel is out of line with out policies, feel free to report them, and the receiving Game Master will be happy to investigate the situation.
