patch 3.3.3

Winning a Random Battlegroup nets you 25 Arena points for your first win of the day.

Wow maybe in 2 months I'll be able to afford a PvP Weapon like the Wrathful Gladiator's Greatsword!! Oh wait no I'm still required a personal team rating of 1800.

Gee thanks blizz.

Buy stuff. Trade it in for Honor. Come to the forums and ask what to do in a spiteful, rhetorical way.

Wait...

Well, we BGers have right to be spiteful.

You have the choice, sure.

I thought the 25 points per day would get me geared up faster. Unfortunately they jacked up the prices for all the gear which means you have to do all the BG dailies every day, every week to get your gear at the same rate you did last season. THANKS BLIZZ!

We're hoping the Random Battleground option will make this feel a little less cumbersome. You'll no longer be forced to do one specific Battleground on any given day in order to get this reward. It's now provided to you in the same fashion as Emblems of Frost via the Random Dungeon option.

I hope you aren't saying BG players haven't gotten less than Arena players for years. Because, frankly, they have. Since TBC it's been play Arenas, grind out WG and emblems in PvE, or forget about getting truly worthwhile PvP gear. Now, the reasons for that have been valid in the past, as people botting the Honor system got completely out of control, but the change did kinda screw over those who enjoyed BGs and not "PvP in a Box".

I hope rated BGs fix this, but we'll see soon enough.

You insert too much meaning into my words today, Scormus. Saying that someone has a right to be petty, malicious, or frustrating -- the basic definition of spite -- sounds weird to me. It could be an emotional reaction. It could be a choice. It doesn't seem like a right.

True enough. Don't mind me, but you do seem rather confrontational with people who have concerns about upcoming changes, and your responses therein have struck me as... dismissive, perhaps? That could be just the way I'm reading it, of course. I apologize if I've offended you, as that has not been my intention. I just tend to take up the banner for those who seem to have been slighted.

... and I enjoy BGs, and hate Arenas, so this is a bit personal for me. Just saying.

We have a bit in common then. I have been a big fan of Battlegrounds since they were released and continue to play them to this day. I've played maybe 20-30 Arena matches, none of which were during Wrath of the Lich King. I don't hate it. I can see why some like it. It's just not for me and I very much look forward to the Random Battleground option, as well as the Rated Battleground system in Cataclysm.

My only argument in this thread is that 25 Arena points a day are useful to those who don't like Arenas. Given that that is an indisputable fact -- regardless of how useful one determines these points to be to them -- I find it odd that it's quite likely no one would complain about the Battleground bonus rewards if the Arena points weren't attached. We give more, yet the very idea of it leaves people sour. It just seems a little off-kilter to me, even if I can understand the distaste some have for Arenas.

Edit: If I have come off dismissive, I apologize. It's been a long week of preparing information for upcoming content and I'm very tired. In fact, I should go have a weekend. :)
