European and North American Servers

Alright. I'm sure this has been asked like a million times already. But I didn't see it in the past forum topics.

My girlfriend lives in Sweden and I live in North America. She wants to play WoW but it kinda loses her interest if I won't ever be playing with her. So I checked the "Paid Character Transfer" FAQ. And it said you can't transfer characters from region to region.

So what I want to know is can I somehow get on European servers? I don't mind making a level 1 again or anything like that. I was going to anyway along with sending my 80 over.
Would it be possible to make an account and make it a European account even though I'm in the U.S.? Or could she make a North American account and join my server?

Aside from this issue the game has always been awesome.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully reply.

O.o Never even knew it came in different versions.

Depending on the region, yes.

There are multiple clients available, based on the region and the local supported. For example the European version of the game has a few clients based on the supported languages (i.e. English, Russian, German, French and Spanish).

The EU version may only access EU realms, the North American version ( U.S., Latin America and Oceanic) may only access the NA realms.

Good luck to both you and your girlfriend. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

1 more question. Will it cause any extra latency lag for the one playing from another country?

Most likely, Oinami. Each version of the game has specific supported regions and as long as you play from that one of those areas you will likely remain within an acceptable range of latency. If you play outside of it, such as playing on a North American realm from France, well, it is likely you will experience a few latency issues with your game play.
