The purpose of the OT thread is to provide players who want to have an amusing and civil discourse with one another a place to do so within the CSF, since it's not a good idea to have those kinds of discussions within another player's thread.

So, we allow a single OT thread to float around for our players to have a location where they can get to know one another better, as well as a fertile breeding ground for [Warm Fuzzies].
